El Castillo – Ancient Mayan Temple in Tulum (Mexico)

El Castillo – Tulum, Mexico

This photo shows a corner view of the top of El Castillo (The Castle) — the largest Mayan temple among the ancient ruins of Tulum, Mexico.  We visited Tulum on a sunny day that had a partly cloudy sky, making for a nice view here.  The entire site dates back to about AD 1200 and is a very popular tourist attraction for visitors to Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula and Cancun / Riviera Maya region.

There are also two iguanas sunning themselves in this image… easy to find if you look a bit closely!
