The two images below came from an early morning photo shoot around the Now Sapphire resort’s pool and beach area during a recent trip to Mexico’s Riviera Maya region south of Cancun. The light just after sunrise was good, there were a few low clouds in the sky for added interest there, and the air was mostly still… meaning no ripples in the pool and therefore pretty good reflections.
Both are ‘high dynamic range’ (HDR) images made from three hand-held shots with my Pentax K-01 camera and a 21mm prime lens. Processing was done with Lightroom 4 (just a little ‘setup’ work here) and then Nik’s HDR Efex Pro (v1).

I was going for a pretty realistic look with these, though there is definitely still a bit of an HDR-ish effect in some parts of the images. What do you think?
